Someone submitted this postcard to us, which was apparently mailed out to select Long Island towns and villages in November:
Our take? We believe this is a completely non-partisan issue – all Long Islanders should oppose the 11-story, high density apartments planned for the Garvies Point development. Nevertheless, anything that brings increased attention to this proposed development – since Glen Cove has acted in secret as much as possible, to move forward without knowledge or understanding from residents of the towns of Oyster Bay or North Hempstead, is fine with us.
The postcard is a nice graphical illustration on how RXR Realty is hell-bent on ruining Long Island – strictly for profit of course. All people have been asking for is something reasonable for our community – not no development at all! Unfortunately, RXR’s egomaniacal leader, Scott Rechler, simply will not compromise or listen to residents whose land sale makes him a multi-millionaire many times over.
